General Anesthesia

Do you suffer from extreme nerves or anxiety when going through dental treatment with your dentist? At Willow Dental, we offer general sedation or General Anesthesia to make your dental visit as relaxing as possible.

What is General Anesthesia?

General Anesthesia is where our anesthesiologist will administer medications through an IV to allow you to be either almost or completely unconscious during your dental procedure.

Does General Anesthesia Cost More?

Yes.  There is an added fee for this service from the Anesthesiologist.  Many dental plans do pay all or a portion of this fee.  The fee for your dental treatment will be billed separately by your dentist.  We can send an estimate to your insurer before your procedure to allow you to know what you are covered for.

Can I Drive Home After My Procedure?

No.  You will need to bring someone 18 or over to your appointment to drive you home.  Someone will also need to stay with you for the rest of the day.  You will be able to drive again the next day.

How Safe is General Anesthesia?

General anesthesia is typically safe, however, there are always risks.  Before having general anesthesia, you will complete a medical history form and the Anesthesiologist will review it with you in addition to going over any risks associated with it.  You will be given the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by your doctor.
