VENEERS

Veneers are custom-made, tooth-colored shells that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. This treatment is used to improve the color, shape, size, or length of teeth so that you can be confident in your smile and won’t feel pain while chewing, talking, or drinking.

Veneers can be used to fix teeth that are stained, worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (teeth with bulges), as well as teeth with gaps, and can be used to fix a single tooth or many teeth.

Veneers can be made out of a variety of materials, including porcelain or resin composite materials. The newest type of veneers are known as dental componeers, which are made out of nano-hybrid composite.

The dental veneers procedure typically requires three separate dental visits: a consultation and two appointments. This will allow us to carefully construct and apply your veneers.

The application of the teeth will involve a local anaesthetic so that the dentist can remove a bit of enamel from the surface of the tooth to make room for the veneers.

A digital impression of your tooth/teeth will be taken and then sent to the lab. It typically takes between two to three weeks for the veneers to be sent back to the dentist.

Once returned to the dentist, during your next appointment the veneers will be bonded to your teeth and your dentist will adjust the color of the veneers to match your other teeth. A light will be applied in order to harden the cement and bond the veneers.
