In past years, orthodontic treatments were used mostly for teens suffering from malocclusion (bite problems). Today, orthodontic treatments are for anyone and everyone. At Willow Dental in Mississauga, Ontario we are proud to offer the modern technology of orthodontic procedures such as Invisalign and orthodontic brackets. Together with today's technology and the skill of our dentists, we can offer our patients efficient methods of aligning their teeth and improving their smiles through the use of orthodontics.
In some cases, malocclusion can interfere with a person's ability to eat and speak properly. In others, it may prevent the proper development of facial jaw lines and well-aligned smiles. No matter what your age, orthodontic treatment can rejuvenate your overall facial appearance, protect your bite and maximize the effective performance of your teeth and their natural functions. In some cases, it can also reshape your jaw, lips and neck when combined with other maxillofacial surgical procedures.
Bioliner ™ treatments consist of a series of custom made aligners that you change out approximately every two weeks. Each aligner is manufactured with exact calculations that will gradually shift your teeth into their correct place.
Bioliner ™ is versatile and helps to correct a wide range of orthodontic issues such as:
Your dentist will work closely with you to create a program that will treat your individual dental and orthodontic issues.
Orthodontic brackets are the portion of braces that are actually attached to the teeth. They are manufactured in different forms including:
Orthodontic brackets are attached to the patient's teeth through bonding. The process begins with an etching agent being applied to the teeth that cleans and prepares the surfaces for the brackets to be placed. The tooth is rinsed and sealed and then the bracket is applied.
Once proper placement is achieved, a curing light is used to cure the bonding agent so that the bracket is securely adhered to each tooth. The final step involves attaching an archwire to each of the brackets.
Orthodontic brackets and Invisalign aligners both offer a different way for your dentist to help create the smile you always wanted. If you have been cursed with crooked, widely spaced or otherwise misaligned teeth, there are procedures available to you that can improve your smile and your overall facial appearance.
