Fall News

October was a wonderful time for friends, family and probably more than your usual share of treats.  Like many of us, you may be feeling that maybe it wasn’t such a good thing for the waistline; especially with the next holiday season fast approaching.  One of the easiest tricks in combating that overloaded feeling is water, water and more water!

Remembering to drink your 8 glasses of water a day is not only a natural step toward trimming your waist line, it’s also a great way to keep a healthy smile.  The simple act of drinking water throughout the day and giving your mouth a good rinse after a meal will help in flushing away some bacteria that may have otherwise been left behind.

The next step in getting back on a healthy track, but one that may take more effort – saying good-bye to the leftovers!   So what do you do with those tempting extra goodies in the house?  If you’re going to indulge, remember the balancing act.  Have a smaller, one-or-even-two-bite portion.  Add nature’s toothbrush into yours or your children’s lunch bag - an apple or some carrots eaten after a sweet treat will help to scrap away some of the sugars sitting on the teeth.

Or if you would rather go “cold-turkey”, you can also bring us your excess candy.  During the months of November and December, Willow Dental will be collecting and donating all extra Halloween candy to the local charities in the area.  In exchange for your candy, we will give you a complimentary tube of toothpaste.
