Growing up in Sudbury, Ontario, Dr. Mi Seong D’Souza or Missy, as we like to call her, knew she wanted to be a dentist since she was three years old. Her other love was dance and she attended Sudbury Secondary School for the Performing Arts.
She remained in Sudbury for post-secondary studies were she earned her Honours Degree in Biochemistry from Laurentian University. While there, Dr. D’Souza won a prestigious research scholarship to the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Her work on tooth-coloured fillings was published and cited in the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association. Dr. D’Souza then headed east to Halifax and earned her D.D.S. from Dalhousie University.
Dr. D’Souza is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Dental Associations. She is committed to “Life-long Learning” and attends numerous continuing education courses each year. Dr. D’Souza also enjoys playing the role of teacher. She has visited several kindergarten classrooms to teach young children the fundamentals of healthy teeth, healthy snacks and healthy mouths.
Dr. D’Souza lives in Mississauga with her husband, CityTV News Anchor Francis D’Souza. Dr. and Mr. D'Souza are overjoyed to be first time parents. Their 1 year-old son Corey keeps them very busy and he already has 8 teeth! As a family, they love traveling the world, trying new recipes and curling up to a good book. Dr. D’Souza’s has been with Willow for 3 years now, but her family members have been patients at the practice for more than 25 years!
